This exciting job opportunity is for a Polymer Applications Scientist in the Corporate Innovation Division of the Eastman Chemical Company located in Kingsport, TN.
This position is specifically focused on developing biodegradable polymers and formulations to support corporate circular economy initiatives targeting the reduction of waste plastic going into landfills.
The position will have responsibility for leading and executing new product development projects as well as leading customer facing applications development in order to generate new business.
The successful applicant will translate market needs into product concepts and subsequently develop the concepts into commercial products.
Candidates should be able to communicate effectively and function in an innovative, fast-paced, multidisciplinary team environment.

The selected individual for this position will be required to:

Develop a deep understanding of the functional attributes of a wide range of polymeric materials relevant to Eastman technology platforms.

Apply theory and modeling to explain experimentally based structure-property relationships for a variety of polymeric systems with the goal of predicting end-use product performance.

Translate fundamental knowledge of polymer materials to the development of new applications and the identification of new market spaces.

Identify needs and opportunities through discussion with customers, sales and marketing personnel with the ability to translate those needs into innovative product solutions.

Propose a course of action based on data analysis.

Lead multidisciplinary new product development project teams.

The desired candidate should possess the following
Qualifications:


Experience:
5 yrs or more experience in industry preferred

-A Ph.
D.
in Polymer Science or Engineering, Materials Science or related field

-Strong interpersonal and communication skills

-Broad interests and willingness to take on relatively undefined challenges

-General polymer application research and development experience, preferably in areas related to engineering thermoplastics including but not limited to polymer processing, formulation, and design

-Strong working knowledge in a broad range of polymer science skills including:
structure-property relationships, polymer physics, polymer characterization, and polymer processing

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
