Responsibilities

This position provides technician level process analytics support plant-wide at the Kingsport site. Job duties and responsibilities include:
- Role model in the areas of safety and safety awareness. Communicate and emphasize the importance of safe work behaviors to coworkers.
- Actively participate in division and group safety programs including Actively Caring Talks, Task Safety Audits, Behavior-Based Safety and Near Miss Reporting.
- Develop process analytical expertise and be an enthusiastic advocate for process analytical technology. Proactively seek technologies that offer advantages for Eastman.
- Work closely with the rest of the Process Analytics technical staff, Engineering, Operations, Suppliers, Technology and Purchasing to design and implement process analyzer systems.
- Ensure frequent and effective communications with all stakeholders on the status of process analyzer systems and maintenance work.
- Review analyzer installations in the field using a formal checkout including a thorough safety assessment.
- Proactively assess analyzer performance and reliability, generate improvement ideas.
- Write, review and approve field procedures and job aids for analyzer maintenance.
- Ensure timely follow-up on internal partner complaints and concerns.
- Install, configure, troubleshoot, diagnose, repair, and test a wide variety of complex electronic equipment and sample handling systems.
- Train Process Instrument Analysts (PIAs) with regard to the operation and troubleshooting and repair of process analytical systems.

Qualifications

Education:

- Associates Degree in an electronics related curriculum or equivalent (from an accredited program) or a BS Degree in Computer Science with a background in electronics or instrumentation and process controls.

Other preferred skills include:
- Experienced in the troubleshooting and repair of industrial and/or analytical instrumentation.
- A graduate of Eastman's Maintenance Mechanic (E&I) apprenticeship is preferred.
- Experience in Polymers Manufacturing is a plus.
- Candidate must be Eastman Technician Qualified.
- Candidate should possess good problem-solving, math, and science skills.
- Must have a high level of initiative and be a strong team player with a winning attitude.
- Capable of managing short-term and long-term measurement needs while meeting timelines.
- Clear and effective written and oral communication skills.
- Knowledge in computers, electronics, software logic, instrument troubleshooting and statistics is a must.

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
