The successful candidate will possess considerable depth of experience in troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining high voltage delta (3) phase electrical infrastructure systems and associated utility equipment. Primary responsibilities include: preventive and/or corrective maintenance for high voltage power distribution system equipment up to 138 kV, pole/pad mounted transformers, substations, PDU''s, secondary power distribution, and lightning protection systems.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The essential duties include but are not limited to:
. Testing, troubleshooting, & repair of all high voltage issues.
. Installation, repair and maintenance of electrical infrastructure including: utility poles, guy wires, down anchors, insulators, fuses, switches, and associated hardware.
. Preventive maintenance & repair on all transformers, sub-yards, switchgear, and high-current breakers.
. Completion of electrical preventative maintenance on lightning protection systems and primary distribution circuits.
. Ability to support plant operations in afterhours emergency situations; responding/addressing storm damage and/or circuit operations.
. Coordination of all high voltage switching for maintenance and/or construction activities.
. Repair of street and parking lot lighting circuits.
. Ability to operate heavy equipment - aerial bucket truck, derrick truck, backhoe; hydraulic tools; hand tools for daily use.
. Climb utility poles with lineman''s gaffs to service utility poles in remote locations.
. Use test equipment (DMM, TTR tester, Megger) on energized equipment up to 2.4 kV.
. Use phase rotation meters up to 15 kV.
. Possess a working knowledge of: 14 kV distribution systems, delta (3) phase power line construction, and capacitor banks.
. Configure / frame utility poles.
. Connect (3) single phase transformers to delta (3) phase configurations.
. 15 kV cutout and lighting arrestor hook-ups.
. Document corrective/preventive maintenance for CMMS program.
. Accurately record/report job time for KRONOS system.
. Assist Engineering & sub-contractors with project implementation.
Required Skills: Education/
Experience: High school diploma or GED. Certified Journeyman Lineman or completed 4 year technical electrical Lineman apprenticeship program or equivalent. Ten years minimum experience in a Lineman role supporting electrical utility and/or utility construction. Also required is the ability to support plant operations in after-hours emergency situations; responding/addressing storm damage and/or circuit operations. Requires residence within 30 min radius.
Preferred Skills: Background in electrical utility industry preferred. Certified Journeyman Electrician desired.
