02 an hour 2 days ago 2 days ago 2 days ago UETHDA is seeking a Neighbor Support Specialist (NSS) for its Kingsport office located in the VO Dobbins Center to work as part of a team to provide coordination of a Neighborhood Services Office & Program Services.
At the direction of the Community Services Manager, the Neighbor Support Specialist (NSS) serves as first point of contact in the Neighborhood Service Center (NSC) and works cooperatively with other NSC staff.
The NSS must provide exceptional customer service to clients a/k/a neighbors in a fast-paced NSC.
The NSS is responsible for initial assessment to determine appropriate staff referral.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Customer Service/Administrative First point of contact in the Center to greet all visitors in a positive, timely and respectful manner.
Must be able to efficiently operate the Neighborhood Service Center and serve neighbors when working alone in the center.
Provide active listening to ensure clients/neighbors receive excellent customer service while assessing their needs and referring them to appropriate staff.
Serve as point of contact for internal and external inquiries.
Builds and maintains positive relationships with clients/neighbors, and referral sources.
Serve as liaison in areas of:
services provided by Agency, referrals to other Agencies (if applicable),relaying messages to proper person while communicating professionally and effectively with all parties.
Assist in coordination of all NSC activities including recruitment of volunteers and facility management.
Provide administrative support to all center staff.
Effectively diffuse client/neighbor conflict to ensure optimum client/neighbor services.
Foster a positive teamwork culture and serve as a bridge between other staff in the center.
Ensure all center administrative tasks are completed timely, accurately, and efficiently.
Strong phone etiquette skills; answering phones in a prompt, courteous and professional manner.
Keep written inventory, order, and maintain office supplies for the Center.
Develop and maintain an efficient working knowledge of program software and stay up to date on Agency technology.
Keep the Neighborhood Service Center clean and clutter free.
Other duties as assigned.
Program Support and Regulatory Compliance Maintain case records in CSBG software and physical case records as instructed and required by grantors; Report irregularities or questions in reports to Community Services Manager.

Education and
Experience:
AS in Administrative Professional Technologies or related highly preferred.
Two years related experience including working with culturally diverse clients.
Strong interpersonal skills including tact, diplomacy, flexibility and service-oriented attitude.
Excellent computer skills, including Office365 programs of Excel, Word, Outlook, data entry into CSBG database and a technical aptitude.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record keeping.
Excellent written and verbal communication; strong multitasking abilities and organizational skills.
Ability to work with integrity, adaptability, discretion, and a professional approach.
Working knowledge of local community resources in job area.
