The interested candidate will focus on providing communications, public relations, employee communications and event planning support, with an emphasis on digital communications including web content, social media and digital signage. Work with digital and online team to create dynamic web content and improve user experience and workflow for primarily internal audiences. Work with digital and broader communications team to engage employees in social media and other digital content. Day-to-day activities include:
Building communications plans
Writing press releases, employee announcements, articles for the intranet and internal magazine, blogs and social media updates
Event planning and coordination
Presentation development and design
Web updates and content management
Creating surveys and measurement tools
Required Skills: Senior or graduate student in a degree program in journalism, public relations, communications or mass communications. Strong writing skills and knowledge of AP Style. Familiarity and skilled in a variety of writing styles including newsletter or internal articles, web/social media, advertising, press releases and scripts. A self-starter able adapt quickly and meet deadlines with minimal supervision Ability to establish a rapport with internal and external stakeholders. Detail-oriented, organized with some experience in managing projects or events Interest in media relations and understanding the new media landscape Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite Graphic design or web design skills are a plus Familiar with widely used digital tools and social media platforms such as twitter and Facebook Video and photo editing
